Storms hit the Chicagoland area every year. Many homeowners are unaware that their homes have been effected by wind and hail. Our showcase customer in this blog post was one of those homeowners.
Russ H. of Lakewood had no idea that his home had been damaged by a wind and hail storm earlier in the year.
One thing that makes Innovative Home Concepts different from other contractors is our active community outreach program. What that means is if we know that a local neighborhood has been hit by a storm, we make sure the homeowners in that area know about it.
One irony involved in the homeowner’s insurance industry is the fact that the burden of reporting damage to a property falls on the property owner. One would think if an ethical business knew that an event had occurred that effected their clients that they would inform them of it. This is not the case with insurance policies and insurance carriers.
Regardless, Russ was informed of the damage to his home by one of our representatives. Our rep, seeing that the roof of Mr. H’s home had been damaged, approached him and offered our services.
Our rep did a thorough roof, gutter, siding, and trim inspection on the home and found enough damage to warrant an insurance claim.
When we help a local homeowner with their
insurance claim we take the reigns and guide them through the entire process. We help them make the claim, the right way. We meet with the insurance adjuster to make sure the homeowner gets a fair shake and that all of the damage is noted. And if for whatever reason the insurance company refuses to pay for legitimate damage caused by nature, we go to bat for our homeowners.
In this particular case, the outside field adjuster made the decision that he was only going to pay for minimal damage repairs. Innovative stepped up.
Because, unlike a regular roofing contractor in Lakewood, Innovative is a highly specialized insurance restoration and homeowner advocate organization. We have on staff Illinois licensed Public Adjusters and an entire staff of folks who are trained to wade through the complicated and confusing insurance claim process. In short, we fight for your clients.
In this particular case, we were able to use our knowledge of the industry to get Mr. H a new roof, new gutters, and 2 new skylights. All paid by insurance with only his deductible paid out of pocket.
Insurance companies know that most homeowners and unfortunately, for homeowners, most roofing contractors would have accepted the estimate for repairs and that would have been that.
I think Russ is pretty happy that we knocked on his door, informed him of the damage to his home, helped him along with the claim process, and then stood by him to fight for what was right. Rightful indemnification after a covered loss to his home.
Because as he says in the video, his roof shingles were curling, his skylights were leaking, and his gutters were faded and old. Now he loves his new skylights and is particularly impressed with the copper work that was done around his chimney.
Being located in Crystal Lake, we love helping out local homeowners in the Mchenry County area. We have helped dozens of homeowners with roof replacement in Lakewood over the past few years… and we would love to help you too.
